and there is color

so after a few days of being completely bored by this:

which is actually quite lovely, a nice merino... just *the same exact color* as all of my walls (making it hard to see what I'm doing)...I was inspired by Kate, and her Kool Aid fun:

The color sort of sunk to the bottom, so that part is brighter than the top, but I'm sure it'll even out once it's spun. I'm not so into the grape color, but the rest sort of made it okay.

I've got hope yet for Anouk beng a proper toddler dress. Chris at Chrisknits had the same idea.. and is knitting Anouk in the round. (Wish I'd thought of that before finishing the front!) I'm going to check out some baby store dresses this weekend to make sure it won't be too narrow, but I'm really hoping I can just make the front and back, seam them, and be done with it. I do like the yarn though.. it's so soft! I hope it holds up nicely.

Running was good last night.. I'm not pushing myself too much- I should be running 1-2 minutes then 1 minute walking- but my walking breaks take WAY more than the 1 minute I should be doing. But I noticed for the first time that I find myself panting because I think I'm out of breath, only I'm NOT! That's progress, right?!

Purple is my favorite color, and I still don't like the grape. Mixing it with berry blue has made it a little better (e.g., 3 blue: 1 grape) but even so. I'm still impressed that you can dye roving without felting it. I'm scared to try without adult supervision ;)

yeah, the koolaid colors are... limited. And the purple.. not great. I think at some point soon I'll need to invest in some proper dyes. That'd also rid my wool of that everpresent fruity smell! though it is better than the lanolin smell. :)
