Woolarina
new shoes!
We're going on vacation next week - on a river in northern michigan. The usual tevas apparently don't prevent fish hooks from um.. eating feet, so I hope these do! We plan on doing a lot of floating down the river and beer drinking. And family visiting. (They are super swell to host us as a belated wedding gift! :) I'm actually debating bringing my spinning wheel... river spinning. Hmmm.

I went to the fabric store last weekend, in search of something to cover our bathroom window (after months of putting the blinds down then up then down then up...) and ended up with that and this as well - maybe for some fun pillows?

I need to finish some other sewing projects first - I have big plans for the purple!!
Oh - don't forget about the
sale! There will be a bunch more items placed on sale in the next day or two!!

I started going through my closets today to unload (yet more!) boxes of yarn! The stuff I found is so great! I forgot about them! They'd been on someone else's site for consignment, but the site didn't get so much traffic, so they are mine once again. for better or worse I guess.
Anyhow, I have a massive amount of yarn! Enough to cover my new rug pretty deep (and it's LARGE!)... so we need to get rid of it!
All
worsted weight yarn is $2 off until July 20! More sales coming soon, so keep checking!
birfday.
still not 30!
I've always hated that my birthday is right next to a holiday. Celebrations always get caught up in fireworks and bbqs, like it's a second thought or something... like, hey, since we're all here, have some cake! Sure, it's nice to have fireworks, and I do love cake! but.. everyone is always at the beach or somewhere fun, and we are... here.
Still, this year has been good and the next year will be better. I am a whole year from the decade of my thirties, when I am sure my life will change and I will finally grow up. Or maybe not? Who knows!
Our big vacation plans for this (early next, actually) year -- Barbados again -- have fallen through most likely. So, we need to find something new! We're aiming for winter, so maybe something tropical. Hmmm. Costa Rica? Mexico? A cruise might be neat, though I am not sure of big boats, or the areas they tend to drop you off in (tourist traps!)..
Our little vacation plans (not so little, but somewhat free, aside from gas) will be a week in Michigan (near the pinky finger area) - family has a cabin up there on a river that's quite floatable on inner tubes. Also, there's excellent cherry pie I hear. And we are promised that the shower will be operational by then! Heh. I am mostly looking forward to floating down a river with beer in a cooler and getting to know my drop spindles better. (not at the same time!!)
Orange you glad?
This is where we started Saturday morning:

After an entire roll of tape!

Then after a lot of this from Marcel and I..
and overnight plus another coat, it looked like this:

Today we put all our furniture back in the dining room:
