DC summer
Happy long weekend! I am awake insanely early in order to go replant a tomato plant (the benefit of having a dad who grows a whole bunch of seeds -- when one of my plants bites the dust there's an extra!) It looks like it'll rain today so I need to go to work early.
The garden is growing, and the critters are starting to find my veggies. The project this week is getting some fencing around my beans to keep the rabbits and woodchucks out. And to try and decide how to deal with tomato cages... do I want to invest in them? And some bugs (maybe?) seem to be munching on some of my pepper plants and making holes. Um? GO AWAY!
Here are some highlights (more on

We had a great weekend free from garden work... lots of eating and hanging out, and a baseball game! We got to Sandy Point State Park and had ice cream in Annapolis. Mmmm. I wish every weekend was so packed with fun! But I've been sleepy since Friday - partly due to staying up late reading books. For some reason I felt the need to read all of
East of Eden and it's 600 pages in a few days. Ugh. Plus two shorter books last week that I got from the library on 7-day loan (yay, new books!)... I am done with reading for a while!
